  • Are you a hungry nurse or nurse leader looking for growth opportunity into a Nurse Manager role?
  • Are you passionate about changing the way nursing care is delivered?
  • Are you a natural developer of people with a team-first leadership style?
  • Do you believe in the organizational concept that "culture eats strategy for lunch"?

If you can say "YES" to these questions we may have the perfect role for you as a Nurse Manager at Cobble Hill Health Center.

Cobble Hill Health Center is a not-for-profit long- and short-term care facility providing services to the disabled and elderly for over 40 years. The Nurse Manager will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our vision: to consistently exceed expectations and set the standard for excellence in residential and community care.

The Nurse Manager must be an exceptional leader with a track record of creating high performing teams and excellent team culture. They will need to be collaborative, team-oriented, self-motivated and driven, with a strong sense of ownership for driving excellence throughout the organization.

Who You Are:

  • You provide excellent care through preventive medicine and have the keen ability to detect a potential decline before a crisis can occur. This is done through day to day involvement, meaningful and purposeful rounding, and impromptu huddles as necessary utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking, while engaging all nurses, CNAs, and other disciplines in the process.
  • You often lead initiatives that create innovative and progressive treatment options that set the standard for excellence.
  • Others say you have an infectious positivity that energizes the team.
  • You can clearly define expectations (with proper training) and implement systems of accountability that will drive staff to perform at their highest capacity with satisfaction.
  • You supervise, evaluate, guide, instruct and foster the growth and development of unit personnel and multidisciplinary teams on all shifts.
  • Eager and willing to put in place a corrective action plan when an avoidable decline occurs or when a resident is transferred out to a hospital. You think about what could've been done to avoid getting to the critical stage.
  • You are a team player, willing to assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other departments throughout the organization.
  • You have an eye for quality and can assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of new quality improvement initiatives.
  • You create a team environment of responsibility, passion, and focus where employees from all shifts feel a united front to care for our residents. It is the hope that with a strong team that feels responsible for one another, there will be no tension between shifts, and fewer call outs as to not leave their colleagues short staffed. A positive and nurturing environment is key.
  • You are a master communicator and/or willing to learn to help create a high functioning and healthy team.
  • You are a creative problem solver.
  • You are comfortable with failure and recognize it is part of the learning process.
  • You are hungry, humble, and smart - bonus points if you can tell us during your screening call where this teamwork mantra comes from.
